Wish me luck. This hotel has over 4,000 terrible reviews. Someone said it was a death trap, the worst hotel ever, a disgusting place which you shouldn't stay at, and someone even said they had a flooded room.
Behind me is one of Britain’s worst rated hotels, and tonight we are going to be staying there.
After reading these reviews, I just had to go and check out the Grand Hotel in Scarborough to see if it’s really that bad.
after reading the reviews about this place. I’m mixed feelings about staying here. I’m a little bit nervous. I don’t know what it’s going to be like. One person said they booked three nights here and only managed two, which is a bit concerning. Obviously, you got a ton of other bad reviews. However, there are quite a few good reviews as well. There’s a real mixture. People said they really enjoyed their stay. Well, there’s only one way to find out what it is really like, and that’s by going to have a look.

from the outside, it genuinely looks like a five-star hotel, and I do believe back in the day it was, but now things have changed.
We checked in and got our room key, and straight away, the hotel surprised me. Honestly, what a building. I feel like I’m on the Titanic or something. Look at this. Wow. I genuinely think they’ve had a refurb. Before we head to our room, let’s have a quick look around the hotel.
the hotel really It did feel grand as it had an extremely old interior. But what else did it have? Outdoor terrace, as you can see, with an absolutely incredible view. Look at that. Obviously, it’s all the hotels there. This place is absolutely massive. There was also this really big bar area, which was so quiet. I was literally the only person in there.
there was also a games room, and there were so many different louanges. Wow. What an incredible place. You can see where it gets its name from. The Caberat Ballroom. Oh, wow. Look at that. That is incredible. It honestly took me so long to explore the whole place. You’ve got another ballroom area. But this looks like a bit of a restaurant. It’s honestly like a maze. I could get lost here. There’s another bar area with no one in. Half the hotel is empty.
It’s also got a piano. Let me give you a few notes. Thank you. Thank you. Next, it was time to head up to our room. Now, this was the part that I was most nervous about. Here we go. Here is our A couple of scratches, but it’s old. Let’s see what it’s like. Here we go. And we’re in. Oh, it’s actually not bad. I’m actually shocked. Here is our room. I am very surprised, to be honest with you. Obviously, three beds. It has the highest ceilings in the world. It really does. To be honest, it’s fairly modern. No, it wasn’t. Shush. Then
As you come into this corner, you’ve got a little wardrobe. Yeah, that is our coat. Don’t worry about that. Iron, ironing board. Extra pillars if we need it. Obviously, you’ve got your scratches and that, but you don’t really complain about that. You’ve got a small TV, which is in probably one of the weirdest positions. It’s just hanging off the corner of a wall. Quite unusual. Should we see if there’s anything in the draws? That’s a bit of a dirty one. It’s got gravy stains. Never have I stayed in a hotel where you have to turn on the electric.
As you come into this corner, you’ve got a little wardrobe. Yeah, that is our coat. Don’t worry about that. Iron, ironing board. Extra pillars if we need it. Wall light, let’s just turn that on, and then we can… There we go. Whoever’s on that bed is in a little bit of trouble because one of the legs looks like it’s going to go. Mattress is firm. Then in this corner of the room, you’ve got a little seating area with this as a view. What a view that is. You can see all the hardware over there. Another set of draws. We got a hair dryer. We got a hair dryer for you. You’re going to use that? Yeah, it’s a pretty old cabinet, but it does the job, doesn’t it?
All the little wear marks. Also got a little desk area, kettle, all your tees and that. This big lamp. No one really knows how to turn it on. One thing I have noticed about the room is just listen to this noise. The radiator is making a weird noise. So yeah, just turn that off. We don’t want any lumen explosions. And then obviously, we’ve got the bathroom, toilet, sink, mirror, everything you need. One of these. These are absolute classic lights. Last time I saw one of them was Pontons, I do believe. And then a shower and a bath with a bit of paint.

Really adds to it. It does look slightly dirty as well, but it’ll be fine. Quick little feature I have noticed. They’ve chained a wardrobe to the wall. People’s tried to put it in the bag or something before and just tried to take it away. Yeah, just a new one for me. In the corridor outside, it did smell a bit, but the question is, what’s it smell of? Bustries. Nice. Just opened the door to come back in the room and it fell apart. Any words? I would say something. That’s That’s a good one. Can you honestly shut the window? Oh. Christ. Honestly, if you do that, I reckon it will come off. Overall, the room is good. Obviously, it’s old, but that is what you would expect. It’s just blowing his nose, isn’t it? Yeah, obviously, it’s old.
It’s an old place, but that’s what you’d expect. It was built in 18 something. The hotel also offered entertainment, so of course, we had to go check it out. 2, 8, 28, 3, 2, 32. Seems of 100 cars and 8. We’re still going. We’re not the most entertaining thing in the world. Someone needs to keep a lid on the outside.
It’s honestly erupted in there. I can safely say the entertainment was dreadful. Simple as that. One and a half hours of Bingo. It has got to be some of the worst I’ve ever seen. I’m not going to lie to you. I spotted another little feature. Look at that. What a lovely little stain. Last night was noisy. That’s the only way of putting it. You could literally just hear the floorboards creaking from the room above. All you heard all night was… That’s all you heard. This room costs us £65 a night. Usually, it is a lot cheaper,
but the real question is, how bad is the hotel? Well, it’s actually not that bad.
