Very happy to see the statue of our leader Mahatma Gandhi just opposite Big Ben in London. I’m in the UK’s biggest city, and today I’ll be helping first-time travelers with a quick, easy guide.
Welcome to London
I know we’ve all heard how expensive it is to travel to London. So today I’m going to tell you simple steps, or let’s call them personal hacks, that will not only help you have an affordable trip, but break it down into easy steps to make the most of your London vacation, hassle-free.
Another important thing is to get yourself a health insurance as treatment in the UK is very expensive. So let’s go.. And finally, after a full 6 hours of sleep, I landed in London.

Landing in London
-> The first step is immigration. All other passports have to go to the queue. If you have hotel bookings, or addresses of relatives, with whom you are staying in London, remember, you cannot bring meat or milk-based products into the country. There are many ways to enter your city. There are local buses, you can take the underground, train, even taxi. The underground is usually the fastest way to get to the city.
But it is best to take a taxi. Yes, taxis are the most expensive mode of transport here, but also the most convenient.
When to travel
->London is a year-round travel destination. But if you like summer vibes, then the best time to visit is June to September. It is not too cold, and you can enjoy daylight until 8:00 or 9:00 PM. ok,
->For tourists, a good place to stay in London would be Central London because of the ease of access to major attractions, transport systems as well as amenities. So I’m staying at St James’s Court, the Taj in the heart of London. great hospitality, And good food, but quite expensive. London is a big city. So if you live a little further from central London, where prices can be cut in half because it has an extensive transport system, you can still get around the city efficiently. St. James Court, Taj costs around ₱35,000 per night. Finding a budget-friendly hotel in Central London can be a bit challenging as accommodation prices tend to be higher in the area.
But you can probably find a better deal. Be sure to book in advance to secure the best rates and consider flexible travel dates to take advantage of any promotional offers or discounted periods.
The easiest way to get around London is the underground scene. But my relatives live in Raines Park, and now I’m in Trafalgar Square. The nearest station is only five minutes away, and their home station is a five minute walk. So easy to get around. Please follow me. I’m going to tell you how easy it is. So Google Maps is very handy, even though you may have to travel by train. It will show the shortest and nearest station to your destination.
It’s my first day in London. I have always stayed with my relatives, which is why I have always traveled by car.
->Surprisingly, buying a ticket at the tube station was not as easy as I thought. Tapping a contactless card works best and that’s what the locals were doing. But if your international credit or debit card is not activated, then you have to buy tickets with cash through this machine. And this machine won’t give you change back. I used my international debit card to enter, and I arrived at my destination, and I was automatically charged for it. I paid about £6 from embarkation to Wimbledon, the same cost as I saw on the chart. So yes, getting around the city, an underground tube is extremely convenient. But even more convenient is just taking an Uber or taxi or there is an app called Bolt, which is cheaper than other available apps.
Well, even if London’s transport links are great, you’ll be walking long distances anyway. So come prepared, wear comfortable shoes, or the weather can be a bit changeable, unpredictable. So dressing in layers is always practical and advised. You know, I realized one thing, whenever you are traveling in UK or Europe, it makes a lot of sense to activate your international roaming, Because buying a local SIM here is actually much more expensive. But remember one thing that you must activate your international roaming before you start your travel internationally.
But London has many iconic attractions, be it Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, or even the Big Bend.
So plan your itinerary well in advance to make the most of your time while here.
So what makes London Bridge so iconic?
Well, it has a historical significance that dates back to Roman times. It also has a lot of cultural significance, providing a breathtaking view and the nursery rhyme London Bridge is Falling Down clearly adds to its reputation. Buckingham Palace is one of the most popular destinations for many tourists visiting here. But here every day at 11 am the gaar ceremony changes.
